Fiji Minister Visited Yiwu

On July 13 and 14, Fiji Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister Yi Nuokai visited Yiwu. Yiwu city mayor Zhi-Ping Huang and other Yiwu city government leaders had meetings with them.

Republic of Fiji is located in the southwest Pacific Centre, the South Pacific region's transportation hub. Sugar industry, tourism and garment industries are the three pillars of its national economy. At present, tourism revenues accounted for a larger proportion of gross domestic product.

Party Secretary Huang Zhiping welcomed the arrival of Yi Nuokai , and briefly introduced Yiwu city's social and economic development. He said that in recent years, the economic and trade exchanges between Yiwu and Fiji became closer.

Last August, the Fiji Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama's visited to Yiwu, to further promote the bilateral friendly economic and trade, culture, tourism and other exchanges and cooperation.

Yi Nuokai said that Yiwu market has a very important influence in China and around the world. He hope in the future, through joint efforts, Yiwu commodity can be sold directly to Fiji, to reduce the middle cost. After returning, he will recommend more Fiji businessmen to come to Yiwu.
